Independent Institute Founder David Theroux Applauds Arizona for its Stance on Protecting it’s Borders

This week on Neal Asbury’s “Truth for America Show”, was return guest David J. Theroux, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Independent Institute, a non-profit, non-partisan, scholarly research and educational organization that sponsors in-depth studies of critical social and economic issues. The mission of the Independent Institute is to boldly advance peaceful, prosperous, and free societies grounded in a commitment to human worth and dignity. Theroux contends that the administration doesn’t seem to want to deal with the immigration issue. This inactivity is tied to the administration’s desire to curry Hispanic voters for the upcoming elections. Theroux said that the flood of illegal immigrants from Mexico can be tied to two main factors: the dire economic... Read More

Former Chicago City Clerk Jim Laski Claims Gun Ban a Failure

Former Chicago City Clerk Jim Laski Claims Gun Ban a Failure

A repeat visitor on ‘Truth for America’ is former Chicago politician Jim Laski, now the host of a radio show on WGN Radio. Laski spent a total of 28 years in the political arena, part in Washington, DC, and 16 years as an elected official serving as an alderman and Chicago City Clerk.  He also served some jail time for corruption. Laski has had a front row seat for the ongoing corruption trial of impeached former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.  While watching the trial, Laski has the feeling that Blagojevich “doesn’t get it.  He is in complete denial even while facing 24 corruption counts against him, including lying to the FBI. That’s a slam dunk for the prosecution. It’s not if he’s found guilty, it’s the length of his prison term.” Laski is shocked that the... Read More

Ex-Acting Chairman of Federal Maritime Commission Paul Anderson Reveals Misinformation on Gulf Cleanup

Ex-Acting Chairman of Federal Maritime Commission Paul Anderson Reveals Misinformation on Gulf Cleanup

Neal Asbury opened the show by highlighting a number of issues that “should shake every American to the core.”  Particularly troubling is that this week the Obama administration asked NASA to become as much a tool of international diplomacy as it is an agency that furthers science, commerce, and the national security needs of the US.   Their new responsibility is to help Muslim countries develop a space science program.  The trouble is that the only Muslim country with a space program is Iran, which is thought by most analysts to want to use space science to develop ballistic missiles capable of delivering weapons of mass destruction against targets in the Middle East, Israel and Saudi Arabia, Europe and North America. An equaling troubling Obama administration initiative is orders... Read More

Maryland Senatorial Candidate Eric Wargotz Wants to See Less Whining by the Obama Administration

Maryland Senatorial Candidate Eric Wargotz Wants to See Less Whining by the Obama Administration

Returning as a guest on Neal Asbury’s “Truth for America Show” was Dr. Eric Wargotz, Republican U.S. Senatorial Candidate for Maryland and current Maryland Commission President.  An experienced leader and activist; a physician-businessman, conservative, and conservationalist, Dr. Wargotz knows what it takes to work as a team and to build consensus on difficult matters.  Wargotz is seeking the Republican nomination for the seat currently held by four term incumbent Senator Barbara Mikulski. In a recent poll, Dr. Wargotz was leading Senator Mikulski in Baltimore County – her strongest voter base. This is important because Dr. Wargotz is expected to carry the rural vote, which combined with a lead in the large urban areas, would get him elected. Echoing the words of nearly every... Read More

Michigan Congressman Thaddeus McCotter Evaluates ‘Victory’ in Afghanistan

Neal Asbury’s first guest was Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) who represents Michigan’s 11th District, comprised of the citizens of Western Oakland and Western Wayne Counties.  Congressman McCotter has focused his efforts on preserving and promoting manufacturing and small businesses.  He serves as Chairman of the Republican House Policy Committee, a leadership position once held by Vice President Dick Cheney. Congressman McCotter is also a member of the House Financial Services Committee, where he serves on the Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government Sponsored Enterprises and the Housing and Community Opportunity subcommittees. Congressman McCotter senses growing frustration among most Americans.  He maintained that many voters felt betrayed when they voted for candidates who... Read More

Congressman Tom Rooney: Obama Should be More Forthcoming on McChrystal and Afghanistan

Congressman Tom Rooney: Obama Should be More Forthcoming on McChrystal and Afghanistan

Neal Asbury opened the show by quoting Oscar Wilde, who once said that “Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.”   If that is the case, according to Asbury, “then President Obama is the most experienced man alive.”  Asbury suggested that the President’s problems stem from the fact that he has surrounded himself with a staff that has no experience in business management, military leadership, or the fundamentals of running a company, let alone the greatest nation on Earth.   He pointed to the firing of General McChrystal and the response to the BP oil spill as signs that this lack of experience carries dire consequences. “My goodness, if your toilet isn’t working and you can’t fix it yourself, you call in a plumber. So with that same... Read More

Louisiana Congressman John Fleming Characterizes BP Oil Spill As A Disaster of Biblical Proportions

Louisiana Congressman John Fleming Characterizes BP Oil Spill As A Disaster of Biblical Proportions

The unfortunate families in the Gulf got no comfort listening to the President’s energy address this week.  Even as President Obama was preparing his speech, Asbury noted that the government released a new estimate of the amount of oil flowing from the well. It was estimated that as much as 60,000 barrels could be spewing into the Gulf of Mexico each day, a sharp increase over the estimate last week of 25,000 to 30,000 barrels a day.  Meanwhile, Asbury was incredulous that the Obama administration was talking about climate control, when it was not going to help a single Gulf family or clean up the spill.  And he thought that Obama’s pledge to accelerate the energy program to create millions of jobs was hard to believe since the Obama administration has not accelerated any program... Read More

Senatorial Candidate Marco Rubio Focuses on US Defense & National Deficit

This week on ‘Truth for America’ Neal Asbury opened the show by asking whether President Obama and his staff have a severe case of Attention Deficit Disorder. He compared them to cats that go after shiny objects. “Every time the administration tries to tackle job creation – the biggest challenge facing the nation – something else comes along that distracts them. Yes, the oil spill is a disaster, and they need all of the resources available, but the economy is also a disaster,” noted Asbury. Asbury took exception to the Obama administration’s claims that it added 431,000 new jobs in May because almost all of the job creation came from short-term hiring for the 2010 census. Essentially, they are only part-time jobs. What is particularly disappointing is that the private... Read More

Former CIA Informant Reza Kahlili: Iran will Inevitably have Nuclear Weapons

Neal Asbury opened the show by suggesting that the only difference between an absentee landlord who ignores your building as it turns into a slum, and President Obama’s approach to cleaning up the BP Gulf Oil spill, is that “you can sue your landlord.” Asbury proposed that American citizens are sitting powerless to stop the overwhelming environmental damage caused by the BP spill, even as “one lame-brained idea after another has miserably failed to help clean up the largest natural manmade disaster in US history – even using a nuclear bomb to seal the pipe. But you know who’s sitting powerless with us? President Obama. As millions of gallons of oil are gushing out of the broken pipe, our President was gushing about the Getty family during a $17,000 a plate fundraising party... Read More

Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger: Republicans Will Take House & Senate in Mid-Term Elections

Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger Predicts that Republicans will take back the House and Senate in Mid-Term Elections. Kicking off his nationally syndicated “Neal Asbury’s Truth for America Show” on WZAB-AM, Neal Asbury opened the show by describing the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as a true tragedy in multiple ways. It starts with the obvious environmental damage it is doing to the area, followed closely behind by the economic damage it is doing to tourism and fishing. But the most egregious tragedy, according to Asbury, is the inaction of the Obama administration. He asked: “Don’t these people look at history? Didn’t Katrina give some hard earned lessons of the misery that can ensue when the government sits on its hands during a disaster?” He proposed that the government’s... Read More
