Investigative Reporter Edwin Black Contends American Electric Car Program Killed by Criminal Conspiracy

Best Selling Investigative Reporter Edwin Black In May the US trade deficit jumped to its highest level since November 2008. Neal suggested that the growing deficit is another sign that the federal government’s lack of support for U.S. exports and free enterprise continues to sap the economy and forestall job creation. He reminded listeners that in the 17 countries where the US has a free trade agreement, the US enjoys an export surplus. Taking that into account, Asbury proposed that Congress’ continuing inability to pass three pending free trade agreements with Panama, Colombia and South Korea is putting the US at a trade disadvantage in these markets. Asbury maintained that the federal government needs to get out of the way of US entrepreneurs so they can play on a level playing field with the rest of the world.

Joining the show was Edwin Black, an award-winning, New York Times bestselling and international investigative author of 69 award-winning editions in 14 languages in 61 countries, as well as scores of newspaper and magazine articles in the leading publications of the United States, Europe and Israel. With a million books in print, his work focuses on genocide and hate, corporate criminality and corruption, governmental misconduct, academic fraud, philanthropic abuse, oil addiction, alternative energy and historical investigation. Editors have submitted Black’s work ten times for Pulitzer Prize nomination, and in recent years he has been the recipient of a series of top editorial awards.

Black transfixed listeners by proposing that America’s addiction to oil can be traced back to a “criminal conspiracy” that ended a promising electric car program that began in 1835. He suggested that GM, Mack truck, Firestone tires, Standard Oil and Philips Petroleum conspired to kill a once promising electric car program that would have eliminated America’s dependence on foreign oil for the internal combustion engine. Without this conspiracy, Black predicted that America would lead the world in electric vehicle technology.

One of the outcomes of America’s dependence on foreign oil is the emergence of “petro political dynamics” that sees America sending money to countries that want to destroy us.

Black is particularly alarmed that the US only has a 57-day supply of unrefined oil in the emergency reserve, and that there is no plan for oil shipment interruption if another country blocks the Straits of Hormuz, the main shipping lane for oil tankers.

Black contends that while US officials promote alternative energy, they have no intention of moving forward on these programs. He accuses the Democrats of paying lip service to alternative energy when they called for 1,000,000 plug-in vehicles to be produced by 2010. “Big deal. There are 250 million cars in the US that use gasoline. They purposely scale back on production but are able to show that they are doing something,” said Black.

He also suggested that the US government puts roadblocks in front of companies that seek to produce alternative fuel and power technologies. This is a far cry from Brazil, which has weaned itself of oil by converting the majority of its vehicles to run on sugar-based ethanol.

The university of Texas at Arlington has developed a process to take one ton of lignite coal abundant in east texas and they can make two barrels of oil for 28 dollars a barrel. Justr think of all the jobs that this would produce and it would end our foreign dependence on oil from other countries. Whether we want to admit it or not we live in a petroleum based society from furtilizer to plastics, clothing and many other products. We seriously need to empeach all thse traitors in the senate and congress and get rid of them , yesterday.
